I don't know why (well maybe I do know) I have two mosquito bites on my face. Actually, I had one on my left cheek yesterday and I really was hoping it would disappear ASAP.
Well! When I woke up this morning, I found that the one I wanted to disappear had disappeared and two more red ones appeared. Guess where!? One at the corner of my mouth and the other on my right cheek! Wonderful! Just wonderful! And just when I wanted to look professional on the first day of school!
Now I look like a dirty thing with a pimple at the corner of my mouth. But its a mosquito bite, really. I haven't been seeing any mosquitoes around lately, but if they do appear, they'll usually be sucking on my once-scarless-and-beautiful legs. And I don't know why(I really don't, this time) only one mosquito attacks at a time.
There you go, another deadly creature. Mosquitoes. I remember when I was in primary four and my grandmother came over to stay, I had to sleep on the other bed, the one right under the air-conditioner and window. I woke up in the middle of the night to an annoying buzzing sound. It was quite funny, come to think of it. It kept buzzing around and I felt my face was really itchy. I decided to force myself to sleep cause there was school the next day and I had to wake up in a few hours time.
I woke up again to the same buzzing sound and felt something on my eyelid. It was like a lumpy thing(no, it wasn't the mosquito) that was incredibly itchy. I lifted my hand to scratch the itch away before checking my motion. I couldn't scratch myself or the lumpy thing will grow bigger so I covered my whole head with my blanket. Ha! Mosquito couldn't get me no more!
At school that day, I knew I had lotsa lotsa mosquito bites all over my face and was making an effort not to scratch them. During my form teacher's lesson, she stared at my face and asked me what happened to it. I told her they were just mosquito bites.
What could it be, huh!? Lovebites!? (Unless I remembered wrongly, they're also called hickeys. Kinda reminds me of hiccups... What a cute name for lovebites.) Anyways... I was vain. And I am vain. Why? *blink*
Which brings me to the subject of vanity... Lemme check up the dictionary for its meaning.
Miss Merriam Webster says that 'vain' means: having or showing undue or excessive pride in one's appearance or achievements. (that's not the only meaning; just showing you the one I'm talking about. If you want the other meanings, click here)
Every single female human in the world is vain(pray correct me if I'm wrong) - well, at least those who can think for themselves and others.
(Whoa... I can hear this woman yelling downstairs... I think she's a maid, though. Er... Scary. I'll get back in a while. *pauses to listen to them* Just when I typed that, she stopped. And when she started yelling again, she sounded softer, so obviously, she must have moved. Sister came in to tell me that a freaky woman was yelling at her husband. *lol* Sorry. For laughing. Ah... I feel so mean. :P)
Anyways! Reasons why people want to look good.
- They want to be the best.
- They don't want to be the best, but they want to fit in.
- They want the group to look good cause they fit in.
- They want to attract the opposite or non-opposite sex.
- They want people to stare at them for their attractiveness.
- They don't want people to stare at them until it gets uncomfortable, but they want pleasant stares. Not from old cheekopeks, but from younger people.
- They are desperate for attention.
- They're not desperate for attention, but simply attention-seeking.
- They wanna get attached or something along those lines.
- They're afraid they won't be good-looking enough for their partner.
- They're afraid they won't be good-looking enough for the person they like.
- They want the person who likes them to like them even more even though they do not like him/her.
- They want the person who likes them to like them even more so they might begin to feel something for the other person.
- They want to be popular.
- They want to be special.
- They want people to praise them so they can act humble, thus resulting in them praising him/her even more for his/her 'humbleness'.
- They want to prove someone wrong.
- They want to be successful.
- They want to be a model.
- They want to be a supermodel.
- If they're really and genuinely nice enough, they might just want to look good cause they don't want to disturb others by not dressing up.
I might just add more, so you can simply keep checking back until you see something new on this list. :) (No, seriously, don't bother. Cause I wouldn't. Ooo... by the way, I realised my hair's real long this morning! Cool, huh!)
