Yay! I think I kinda believe a little more that Jesus should be worshipped! Last night, I made a last-minute prayer to Jesus and asked Him to give me the best dream ever!
Amazingly.. I dreamt of a close friend I had seen only three years ago. We went to different secondary schools, see.
I dreamt that I was in school queuing for something(I don't know what) with my dad. And all of a sudden, I saw Vivian (that's her)! I was overjoyed! And then, I saw her dad too! (I really don't remember if I had ever seen him before IRL.) We were all queuing for something.. And, of course, there were others about.
So we were chatting and all, and later we moved to what was the general office(it was located at where the lower staff room is now.. And it looked very very different.). Anyways, my dad was already in there queuing.. Again.. Just in a different place.
And I told my dad that we would sit at the sofas slightly further in while he queued. Vivian's father kinda.. disappeared:P
Right before we walked to the sofas, this guy with a "qian bian" look cut my daddy's queue! We shooed him off. I felt annoyed.
After the problem was settled, we went to sit at the sofas. I don't remember anything after that, so maybe nothing happened.
Now, the weird thing about this dream is that I actually felt something, unlike the other dream. And once again, I never even thought about Vivian. Its been ages since I thought about her. I think.
I don't know if all this is part of my mind.. There's just this part of me that's unwilling to believe. I guess I'm too practical. Not that I don't like being practical.. Makes me special, see? :D Just need a little faith.
Anyways! Harry Potter. There are some parents who don't allow their kids to read Harry Potter books. That is just plain stupid. Sorry if you feel offended that I'm insulting your parents..
If these parents don't allow their kids to read Harry Potter books and/or watch Harry Potter movies because:
1. of their religion, be it the kid's or the parents'. Perhaps the parent(s) is/are afraid that the kid is too susceptible to believing that such sorcery and magic is true, and might actually lose faith in the God they worship. That, I cannot find fault in. But do you really hold such low faith in your child to not succumb to such ideas? Unless they really are unable to control what they believe in, and are that naive, then yes, I cannot blame the parents again.
2. the parents think that it is useless reading such nonsense. English. Improve vocabulary. J.K. Rowling's descriptions are not very good, IMO, but I believe that she is very intelligent and can plan things well. There is always something to learn from a book. I mean, how many Singaporean kids have good English? Disgusting and embarrassing.
About the movies.. Its just for entertainment. Granted, I do not believe this is essential. So if parents don't allow them watching the movies because its a waste of money, its fine. I myself watch the movie only because I want to bitch about it later and test my memory.. To see how many things about the movie are different from the book that I can spot.
One thing i find weird... How come there are so many more people against Harry Potter than Lord of the Rings?
